On October 18, 2024, The Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts hosted its annual Pearson Global Forum at the University of Chicago. This year’s theme, Negotiation & Agreement, invited scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to explore how negotiation can shape the trajectory of conflict and peace. What do the outcomes of past peace agreements reveal about our present? And how can those insights guide current and future efforts toward resolution?
As with years prior, the Forum aimed to create space for dialogue between global thought leaders, leveraging rigorous research to inform meaningful policy change. Our design approach reflected this spirit of collaboration and forward momentum.
Visual Identity
This year’s concept drew inspiration from data art and color mixing — a visual metaphor for negotiation itself. Different colors, patterns, and forms overlapped to create new compositions, symbolizing the complex process of coming together to shape a shared reality. This evolving identity honored the idea that resolution is not static; it is layered, multifaceted, and shaped by dialogue.
Collateral
We designed a cohesive suite of digital and print materials to support the Forum’s communications and on-site experience. These included:
Social media graphics
Speaker profiles and motion animations
Event banners and printed collateral
Website assets
Tote bags and merchandise
Each element was crafted to reinforce the central themes of convergence and transformation, while maintaining the integrity of The Pearson Institute’s brand.
