Ensaaf is a human rights organization working to end impunity and achieve justice for mass state crimes in India, with a focus on enforced disappearances and unlawful killings in Punjab. Through investigative reporting, data visualization, and survivor storytelling, they document truth and demand accountability.
Tasked with a full rebrand, we sought to echo that precision, clarity, and integrity across every visual and narrative element. The new brand identity draws inspiration from Ensaaf’s roots in investigative journalism.
We designed a logo suite that integrates Gurmukhi and English in a typographic lockup — a visual commitment to honoring cultural specificity while communicating clearly across audiences. The color palette balances the sobriety of archival documentation with the emotional urgency of Ensaaf’s mission, drawing attention without overwhelming.
This project was shaped through active collaboration with the Ensaaf team — a deeply thoughtful, co-created process that ensured alignment on values, tone, and visual storytelling.
We worked closely to build a flexible system of communication tools: social media templates for rapid response and longform storytelling, visual systems for maps and infographics that support data-driven narratives, and print collateral for donor engagement and reporting.
Across every touchpoint, we designed for clarity and emotional resonance — reducing cognitive dissonance by aligning tone, typography, and visual hierarchy.
The result is a brand system that empowers Ensaaf to speak truth to power with confidence, consistency, and care.
